NUCA NJ held its Kickoff Event at Meximodo in Metuchen Tuesday evening, and it was a good one!
The February Fiesta was the perfect way to start the year, bringing together members, prospective members, and industry partners for a night filled with great conversation and incredible food. The atmosphere set an enthusiastic tone for the months ahead and highlighted the strength of our NUCA NJ community.

NUCA NATIONAL HAPPENINGS
NUCA held a successful 2026 National Convention at the Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa, bringing together utility contractors, national partners, chapters and affiliates for a week of connection, collaboration and forward-looking discussion.
During the convention, David Howell, vice president of business development at Midwest Mole, was inducted as NUCA’s new Chairman. Howell outlined the association’s 2026 goals, emphasizing efforts to advance and modernize NUCA, focusing on funding, regulation, damage prevention, safety and workforce development. “My goal is that as part of our efforts we also work to find ways to provide for future generations the same opportunities I was able to take advantage of that NUCA has offered,” Howell said.
The convention offered members valuable industry updates, leadership meetings, educational sessions and networking opportunities in a relaxed setting. It also celebrated excellence within the industry, recognizing companies for outstanding safety performance and honoring individual leaders for their contributions. Overall, the event reinforced NUCA’s commitment to safety, workforce development and strengthening the future of the utility construction industry.
